Temporary degradation in the Paymentservice core system

Summary: Between: 15:30-22:20 on Friday we experienced a degradation in the database which caused a smaller number of purchases to time out. Between 22:20-00:40 on Friday to Saturday the degradation reached a level where the issues affected a majority of our services and purchase requests

Root Cause: A faulty execution plan was cached which caused issues with the database.

Mitigation: The decrease in service availability triggered our monitoring systems at around 22:20 and our services were recovered at 00:40 again. We are sorry for the inconvenience and we will take the necessary steps to ensure that this problem does not re-occur. Alarms have been re-configured.
